If you’re thrilled about the upcoming Dark Souls installment, Dark Souls III, which launches on April 12, 2016, worldwide then you’ll likely be interested in checking out a preview page of the official upcoming comic book series, Dark Souls, from Titan Comics. The preview page shows off a bit of the artwork and a snippet of a battle but we’ll have to see where the story takes us when the first issue releases.
Titan Comics showcased a preview page of their upcoming comic that’s set within the dark grim world of Dark Souls from Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware. We’re pretty much in the dark as to what we can expect from the series but that doesn’t surprise us. After all, it was only earlier this month that Bandai Namco Entertainment offered $10,000 to any fan that could explain the Dark Souls story. Regardless, the first issue of the Dark Souls comic is set to release on April 6, 2016, from author George Mann and illustrations by Alan Quah.
According to Titan Comics Tumblr post, George Mann was thrilled to work on the Dark Souls story because of its rich original universe the game is set within.
I’m ‘dead’ excited to be working on this new series (see what I did, there). Dark Souls has a rich, original universe that’s just begging to be explored in comics, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to delve in and tell some new stories within it. I’ve been a fan of the games for some time, so it’s a real thrill to be able to contribute to the mythology of the Hollows and their world.
As mentioned, the first issue of Dark Souls hits store shelves on April 6, 2016. Furthermore, the first issue will have five different art covers, one done by Joshua Cassara and another by Marco Turini.
