Multiversus has been slowly but surely building toward its launch next year. The beta that is going on right now has been incredibly popular, and many are wondering just how much bigger the thing will get before it goes into full launch mode. We’ve already had a series of new characters join the game, updates to the content, balance patches, Halloween events, and more. So what’s next to come into the game? That would be a twofer in the form of a new character and a new mode that the Player First Games team is trying out. Because after a lot of teasing, Black Adam has arrived in the game.
He was teased for earlier but then got delayed. However, with the new patch notes that dropped, it was revealed that Black Adam is indeed in the game and is not alone in the update. But first, the character. In terms of looks, you’ll be able to get the New 52 and classic look for the character. So choose the one that works best for you. Plus, in tribute to the movie that stars the man in black, there’s a unique icon for the character that is a recreation of a shot from the film starring The Rock. Not surprisingly, Black Adam is a powerful character within the game. So test out his moveset and see if it works for you!
An Alpha for an Arcade Mode is another significant addition to the game through the new patch. Yep, that’s a classic mode for a fighting game, so it makes sense that Multiversus would have one. The twist here is that you can do the Arcade Mode alone or with a friend! There are three difficulties for the mode, and if you do the latter two, you’ll have to face off against a “Nemesis” character based on who you selected as a character. You’ll get special stars attached to those characters for the ranking that they were able to beat.
The team promises that there will be new additions and tweaks to the mode over time. But, again, this is an Alpha version. So go ahead and try it out and help the team make it even better going forward!
An extra addition to the game is the Silly Queue. In it, gamers will have more casual and wacky matches meant to be more fun than anything else. For example, in that queue is a modifier mode called Growth Spurt. That mode allows you to grow in size the more damage you do to your opponent. Also, the Battle pass has been extended to level 53 with new rewards put in too.
Finally, just in time for Halloween, there are new cosmetic outfits for you to get. Check out the full patch notes for the breakdown of Patch 1.05!
