Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gets Spooky Seasonal Event

October 20, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

The Oskoreia Festival returns today.

A new seasonal event gets underway in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla today. In time for Halloween, the in-game Oskoreia Festival is heading into players’ settlements as of today and will linger creepily in place until November 10.

The Oskoreia Festival will be an opportunity for players to prove the strength of their Raven Clan against the threat of the harmful spirits that haunt it. Players will find themselves facing off against the Festival’s Wild Hunt (no, not that Wild Hunt) in a number of spooky seasonal challenges. The Oskoreia Festival will also give players plenty of chances to earn themselves some seasonal rewards. New quests and activities will also be making their way into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as part of the Halloween-themed festivities. The settlement of Ravensthorpe itself will be taking on a new, ghostly appearance to really set the tone for the undead-slaying exploits to come over the next couple of weeks.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla most recently had an update to its Tombs of the Fallen content, which added a second pack of tombs for players to explore and master at the back end of last month. In addition to this, a new settlement building also made its way into the game as part of its most recent title update. The recently added Rune Forge can be built into players’ settlement as long as their Ravensthorpe community has been upgraded to Level 4. The Rune Forge itself allows players to convert the perks of any gear they currently own into new runes, as long as they can pay for the conversion costs with silver, that is. Players can also sell any unwanted runes in exchange for silver in the new building.

Although Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is now somewhat entering its wind-down phase, players can look forward to Eivor’s story coming full circle towards the end of this year. As confirmed last month, the game will be getting its final DLC expansion at some point before this year is over. Suitably titled “The Last Chapter,” players can expect to see protagonist Eivor embarking on a final adventure which will presumably fill in a few narrative gaps and perhaps explain their hero’s final fate. However, we’ll just have to wait and see what Ubisoft has in store for the Viking that much of the gaming community has come to love over the past two years. It could be that we see the release of The Last Chapter in November, which would coincide with the game’s second anniversary, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Until then, there’s plenty of creepy content for players to enjoy as part of the current Oskoreia Festival.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
