THQ Nordic has just revealed details of a special collector’s edition of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. The upcoming colourful platform game is set to launch next year. Ahead of the adventure’s release, hardcore SpongeBob SquarePants fans will be able to bag themselves a unique set of collectables. All they’ll need to do is to pre-order the newly-revealed “BFF Edition” of the game.
The contents of the BFF Edition have been showcased in their full glory thanks to a brand new trailer. The crowning glory of this limited edition collection is a 9.8″/25 cm high Cosmic Victory Statue, and a 19.7″/50cm wide inflatable Patrick. Alongside this are a number of other limited edition SpongeBob SquarePants bits and pieces that should appeal to lovers of the long-running Nickelodeon franchise. The special BFF Edition is available to pre-order now and contains the following specific items as part of the bundle. Players will be able to get themselves some unique, game-based keepsakes, which include the following items.
- Cosmic Victory Statue – 25cm / 9.8″
- Inflatable Patrick – 50cm / 19.7″
- BFF Amulet with Necklace
- 4 Costume miniature bouncing balls
- 4 placemats
- A standard copy of the game on the chosen platform
- Costume Pack DLC
The game itself is currently still in development at THQ Nordic and as such, there has been no specific release date given for when it’ll launch yet. We do know that it’ll be some time in 2023, so we’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for further updates. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake looks set to send fans on another hilarious and crazy adventure across Bikini Bottom and beyond. After SpongeBob and Patrick unleash cosmic chaos across their home, the game will take players to a number of iconic locations from both the SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon universe. In addition, players will have the chance to explore their way across a number of distinctly unusual in-game regions known as Wishworlds. The inclusion of an inflatable Patrick in the BFF Edition is apt, given that SpongeBob himself will be accompanied throughout the in-game adventure by Ballon Patrick as his permanent companion.
