Dead By Daylight Resident Evil Chapter Releases August 30

Some iconic characters are headed into the fog.

Hit hide-and-seek horror game Dead By Daylight will launch its Resident Evil chapter at the end of this month. Behaviour Interactive has just confirmed the chapter’s August 30 release date in an official tweet. The chapter will be the second time Resident Evil has made a crossover into Dead By Daylight. Capcom and Behaviour Interactive have collaborated once before to bring the horror titles to an exciting crossover point.

Named “Project W,” the latest Resident Evil chapter for the game will bring a new Killer into the fray in the form of Albert Wesker. The character, known as The Mastermind, is perhaps best known for his appearance in Resident Evil 5. Also joining the game as playable survivors will be Resident Evil characters Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers.

The big reveal of the “Project W” chapter came during a recent Behaviour Interactive showcase that took place at the beginning of August. There was no reveal date announced back then, but we did get a look at the upcoming action. You can check out the preview trailer for “Project W” below to get up to speed with who and what is heading to Dead By Daylight.

The new Resident Evil chapter will also reprise the iconic location of Raccoon City’s Police Department, with the game’s Raccoon City Police Department Map getting a bit of an overhaul for Dead By Daylight. Players will be able to explore two different maps known as the East Wing and the West Wing.

As far as action goes, we know that playing as Killer Albert Wesker will allow players to throw their victims across the map, thanks to his superhuman strength. As a character infected with the Prototype virus and on a mission to infect the world, players can expect him to make use of disease-based mechanics in addition to his physical prowess. Players trying out the chapter on Dead By Daylight’s Public Test Build have reportedly been finding Wesker’s playstyle pretty engaging. It’s likely that when the chapter is released to the wider world on August 30, there’ll be some satisfied customers in the Dead By Daylight gaming community.

Aside from Dead By Daylight’s newest crossover content, fans of the game’s killer-based action will be looking forward to the game’s upcoming spin-off title. Hooked On You is a dating simulator created within the Dead By Daylight universe. No, you read that correctly. Those who love playing as their favorite killers will get a chance to literally show them some love in this murderous dating sim, which looks like it’s been a labor of love for Behaviour Interactive. It should be a deadly way to end the summer after its launch earlier today on Steam.

Dead By Daylight is available to play now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC via Steam, the Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store.
