A new character trailer showcasing the colossal combat prowess of NieR: Automata protagonist 2B just dropped. Square Enix has released the clip as part of the build-up to the release of NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition on the Nintendo Switch on October 6.
As one of the action RPG’s central characters, all-purpose battle android 2B is being reintroduced to those who’ve played NieR: Automata before, as well as being showcased to brand new audiences on the Nintendo Switch. The sword-wielding warrior is a soldier in the automated infantry squadron known as YoRHa. As part of YoRHa, players will be taking the fight to the machines in a battle to save the world. You can check out the character trailer right here to get a look at some of her abilities and combat moves ahead of the game’s upcoming Switch release.
The End of YoRHa Edition of NieR: Automata will see players stepping into the deadly but immaculately-heeled shoes of 2B, amongst other characters. They’ll be on a mission to reclaim the earth from otherworldly machine lifeforms. The game itself has something of a huge cult fanbase, who fell in love with its desolate open-world environments and compelling storytelling when it was originally released in 2017. The story follows the action of three combat-engineered androids across a global conflict and features lots of satisfying hack-and-slash action interspersed with highly engaging RPG elements.
Nier: Automata: The End of YoRHa Edition includes the base game, as well as all prior additional content and the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC. Those opting to pick up this special edition of the game will also get their hands on some fancy new outfits for characters 2B, scanner android 9S, and prototype android A2. 2B will be getting a “Revealing Outfit,” 9S a “Young Man’s Outfit,” and A2 will be getting the far cooler-sounding “Destroyer’s Outfit” as part of the new edition. These costumes are based on characters from NieR Replicant and will be unlockable as rewards during the course of the game. Three types of colosseums are also included in The End of YoRHa Edition, which will be available both as a digital and physical release.
As far as other expectations for The End of YoRHa Edition of NieR: Automata, we’ll just have to wait and see. The game will run at 1080p resolution in docked mode on the Nintendo Switch and a targeted resolution of 720p in handheld mode. Both will run at 30 FPS. It may be that 2B’s companions get their own character trailers from Square Enix in the coming weeks, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for those while we get ready for the game’s launch on the Switch.
For those who haven’t played the game yet, NieR: Automata is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will be launching on Nintendo Switch on October 6.
