Anyone who's played the Battlefield 3 beta will notice that environmental destruction has been toned down a bit from the Bad Company series. Sure, I can still blast through walls and ruin someone's day, but where have all the falling buildings gone?
The answer? They've headed to the single-player campaign, as evidenced by the new batch of screenshots sent over by EA and DICE.
Of course, impromptu demolitions aren't everything. We also get some shots of a level that takes place in a parking garage, a jet on the deck of an aircraft carrier, and a pair of soldiers rappelling down an elevator shaft. I have to say, DICE may be new to this whole cinematic, action-packed campaign thing, but they're fast learners if the variety and sheer scale on display in this screens is representative of the finished product.
Take a look at the screens, and try to keep the drooling to a bare minimum.
Battlefield 3 releases on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC later this month with a scattered international launch. North America gets first dibs on October 25, with Australia and Europe following on the 27 and 28 respectively.
