Amplitude Releasing Worldwide in January, $40 Backers Get it Early

December 2, 2015 by Stephen Daly

The PS3 version will follow shortly after the game’s PS4 launch.

Harmonix has announced that its successfully crowdfunded music game Amplitude will be released worldwide via the PlayStation Store on PS4 from January 5th for $19.99.

The PS3 version “will follow shortly behind.”

Amplitude offers more than 30 songs and what Harmonix calls a “concept album approach” to its narrative. There's a sci-fi themed single player campaign as well as local cooperative multiplayer modes and leaderboards.

Among the music for the game are tracks created by Harmonix's internal composers and other video game composers including Darren Korb (Transistor), C418 (Minecraft), Danny B (Crypt of the Necrodancer), and Jim Guthrie (Below). Backers including Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank) and Lab Zero (Skullgirls) will also have music featured in the game.

Those who backed the game at the $40 tier or above will be able to play the game in time for Christmas, they'll get it December 23rd.
