While every mission of Sniper Elite 5 gives a primary objective to complete, they also each have a target that SOE has tasked you with taking out in order to one of the 3 stars that you can get per level. These are known as Kill List Targets and each one also comes with an optional challenge for how you take them out, rewarding you with special rewards for doing so. For those who want to get 3 stars across every mission and get all the rewards related to these targets, you will need to know where and how to do so. This guide will explain to players how to complete every Kill List Target and their optional Kill Challenge in Sniper Elite 5.

All Kill List Targets And Optional Challenges In Sniper Elite 5
With there being a total of 8 missions outside of the final ninth mission that is just a single target and the DLC mission (which doesn’t have a Kill List Target), that means there are a total of 8 Kill List Targets. Below is a full breakdown of where to find them and how to complete their optional Challenges.
Mission 1: Steffan Beckendorf
The Kill List target in the Sniper Elite 5 is Steffan Beckendorf, an officer that you can find in the southwest part of the level. There isn’t an exact location where you will find the target with him being escorted around the coastal French town in a Staff Car along with three infantry soldiers. You will find him in the red circle shown below by following the road through the town. Optional Kill Challenge: Your Kill Challenge here is to kill Beckendorf with an explosive. Since you know that Beckendorf is a car patrolling the streets of the level, you can put down a Teller Mine on the road and simply wait for it to go off or you can simply through a grenade at the car or, as I did in the photo below, shoot one of the nearby Panzerfaust rocket launchers at him. Killing him with an explosive will unlock the M.Pist.40 for you to use in your class.
Mission 2: Friedrich Kümmler
Found in the northeast part of the Chateau that you are tasked with infiltrating in this mission, you will need to kill Friedrick Kümmler for this mission’s Kill List Target. He can be found in a ballroom with several other officers. Optional Kill Challenge: This Kill Challenge will need to drop a chandelier on Kümmler. You can either get it to fall by using the controls on the overlook on the other side of the entrance shown in the right image. You can also shoot the chandelier until it falls. Wait for Kümmler to get under the chandelier to get it to fall on him. This will unlock you the K98k.
Mission 3: Fabien Richter
Fabien Richter is one of the Officers that are a part of the meeting that is being held at the Spy Academy. You will find him in the hall where your Primary Objective is located at the top of the church. Optional Kill Challenge: This Kill Challenge will task you with taking Richter out with a Stealth Melee Kill. This is fairly easy, as all you have to do is wait for the meeting to end and sneak up behind him and stealth kill him. This will unlock you the P06.
Mission 4: Matthaus Ehrlich
You will find Matthaus Ehrlich in a warehouse building to the west of the War Factory right next to the train tracks. Optional Kill Challenge: This Kill Challenge involves a piece of equipment called a rat bomb. You can find these around the Factory, but you can guarantee that you get one by using the default Starting Location of the mission called Resistance Safehouse. On your way out the door, you will find the rat bomb to pick up. At the warehouse, there are locations where you can plant the rat bomb. Place the bomb on the ground. Once Ehrlich sees the rat, he will shoot it and it will explode, killing him. This will unlock you the M.Pist.44.
Mission 5: Lanzo Baumann
Mission 5’s Kill List Target, Lanzo Baumann, is found to the east of the map patrolling the construction site. Optional Kill Challenge: This Kill Challenge sees you having to kill Baumann by dropping him in cement. You can do this by weakening the beam shown in the right picture below and then interacting with the cement mixer. Baumann will investigate the mixer and then lean on the railing, causing him to fall into the cement. You can also activate the mixer and then knock out Baumann. Carry him to the railing and throw the unconscious body into the cement. This will unlock you the Type 100.
Mission 6: Jaan Trautmann
Scared of the Resistance and Allies attacking the on D-Day, Jaan Trautmann is held up in a mansion located to the west of the map. You can gain access to the room by using a key or a satchel charge. Optional Kill Challenge: This Kill Challenge will task you with poisoning Trautmann instead of breaking into the room. You can find poison on the first floor. Take the poison up to the glass on the table just outside Trautmann’s room and interact with it. You can then ring the bell next to it to get Trautmann to come out of his room. Hide and let him drink. He will die once he does so. This will unlock you the Model D.
Mission 7: Christian Jungers
In the weapons lab found to the southeast of the dome that you need to infiltrate for your mission, you will find Christian Jungers checking in on the weapons that are being developed here. Optional Kill Challenge: For this Kill Challenge, you will need to drop the V2 rocket on Jungers. Head up to the top platform to find the button shown in the rightmost image. Wait for Jungers to walk underneath it and then interact with it to drop the rocket on him. This will unlock the RSC 1918.
Mission 8: Shinji Yoshikawa
Shinji Yoshikawa is found in the town hall located to the northwest of the ruined city. He is held up in a room that you can enter with either a key or a satchel charge. Optional Kill Challenge: This Kill Challenge tasks you with killing Yoshikawa with a Japanese weapon, aka the Type 14 Nambu or the Type 100. You can come into the mission with the Type 100 if you got it from Mission 5, but there is also a set of Japanese weapons in the room that you find Yoshikawa. This will unlock the Type 14 Nambu.
