A trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’s multiplayer mode was revealed at the PlayStation media briefing at Paris Games Week 2015 today.
The trailer shows off some of the additions to Uncharted’s multiplayer such as Mysticals, Sidekicks, and the grappling hook, details for which can be read below courtesy of lead game designer Robert Cogburn on the PlayStation Blog.
- Sidekicks: When you are in a pinch you can call in your friendly Sidekick to help you. These are unique, AI controlled characters that come equipped with unique abilities that can help turn the tide of a battle.
- Mysticals: These are supernatural abilities from the Uncharted series that give a player unique powers. See if you can recognize what Mystical abilities we are showing off in the trailer.
- Last, you will be able to leverage the grappling hook in a number of locations in our multiplayer maps. We have also heavily leveraged this exciting mechanic for our melee. Yes, you will be able to land on people and take them out –would you expect less?
A demo of Uncharted 4’s multiplayer mode will be playable at Paris Games Week, PAX Australia, and Lisboa Games Week. Those who purchase Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be able to download and play the multiplayer beta from Dec. 4-13, 2015.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which developer Naughty Dog calls the “end of an era” and Nathan Drake’s “final chapter,” will be released on Mar. 18, 2016 for PlayStation 4.
