Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which launches tomorrow, has a full mode set during the First World War.
Spoilers: If you'd prefer not to know details about the mission, which is available late in the game, stop reading now.
While the game's achievement list hinted about leap into the 20th century, Eurogamer reports that unlike the World War II challenge maps of Assassin's Creed Unity last year, it's actually pretty substantial.
The World War I section has its own playable character, Lydia Frye, the granddaughter and great-niece of the game's two main protagonists Jacob and Evie Frye. There's a range of missions available, which take place in the Tower Bridge area of London.
Lydia is already an accomplished Assassin when players meet her and has full access to the game's entire perk tree. She begins by climbing Tower Bridge to defend the city against a German zeppelin raid.
That done, Lydia can then take on a number of missions for Winston Churchill, who employs her into the British Secret Service.
During the mode players learn more about the later lives of Jacob and Evie and there are numerous appearances by the First Civilization's Juno.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate will be available tomorrow for PS4 and Xbox One, the game launches on PC November 19th.
