Word has spread of a major bug in Wasteland 2. If you were interested in this game but don’t own it yet, you may want to hold off.
To understand the bug, you first need to learn a bit about Wasteland 2’s gameplay. In the course of playing, you will run into characters who will become your followers, AKA recruits. You can only play with three recruits at one time, so when you pick up a new one, you have to choose an older recruit who will return to your home base.
The bug is simple enough to understand, but it’s pretty bad. Once you dismiss a recruit, he or she does not reappear in home base like he or she is supposed to. There is also no way for you to act so that you can bring him or her back at this time.
Is the bug game breaking? No, but it’s very close. If you get lucky and those recruits do reappear down the line, they won’t have all the perks they earned before, and there is of course no way to return those back.
Our source is so frustrated with the bug that they’ve sworn to stop playing, but other players chimed in that if you don’t switch recruits back and forth at all, you can finish the game. There is apparently little reason to switch around characters either.
