Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will have microtransactions, but it won’t be the same as the last time.
Development director Francois Pelland compared Syndicate’s microtransactions model to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. For gamers who want to acquire the best gear but don’t have the time, this makes it that much easier to get them sooner.
However, there is nothing in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate that is not available in the base game. Microtransactions are 100 % optional.
Ubisoft’s decision does not alleviate all the effects of having microtransactions. For example, gamers who pay extra will still get the extra gear sooner. In any case, fans now expect that Ubisoft has subsequently removed the reliance of online servers to access this content, whether they pay for it or not
Assassin's Creed Syndicate will release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 23rd October, and on Windows PC on 19th November. Is this an acceptable way to use microtransactions for you? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
