Remedy Entertainment’s 2010 title Alan Wake received a remastered edition in October of last year marking its entry on PlayStation platforms. Unfortunately, for those who are both fans of the game and Switch console owners, there was no mention of a release.
That was until the title received an ESRB Rating of T hinting at a possible release in the near future.
Now it is official, the developers of Alan Wake have announced that the game is set to arrive on the platform this fall. The announcement was made in a video released by Remedy Entertainment ahead of the original game’s 12th anniversary.
The video shows Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake, as well as Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porretta who provided the physical model and voice actor for the lead character. The video starts off with the three of them discussing their experiences while creating the game and exploring his personality and character of him.
At the end of the video, the three of them reveal that the remastered version will land on Nintendo’s Switch during the fall of this year. Luckily the game will run on the native hardware of the platform and not via its cloud service which can cause gameplay stutters.
At the end of the video, we also see them mention the sequel, Alan Wake 2 a full-on survival horror title that is set to release next year.
Alan Wake Remastered is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and releases on Nintendo Switch this Fall.
