LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is something of a Star Wars fan’s dream due to its extensive look at the mainline films in the canon. Given the fine level of detail that each level has, it’s clear that the studio behind it, Traveller’s Tales, has a true passion for the franchise. One of the ways that this is most abundantly clear is in the sheer number of playable characters featured in it.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga hosts over 300 playable characters from the films as well as characters from the extended universe. Some feel like obvious additions such as Mando from the Mandalorian while others are certainly deep cuts like Mister Bones. Many fans were excited to see their favorite extended universe characters featured in The Skywalker Saga but now that the game has come out, they’re left searching every nook and cranny of the game for a character that might just have been omitted. One of the big-name characters that fans are looking for is Captain Rex.

Is Captain Rex in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?
The short answer is: no, Captain Rex, unfortunately, isn’t in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. That is, he isn’t in the game just yet. Despite his massive popularity in the Star Wars fandom, Rex isn’t in the game. There are a few potential reasons for this, but the main one is that he just doesn’t appear in the mainline Star Wars films with a big enough role to be included.
Retroactively, Rex was added to Star Wars Episode 6 as Clone Wars showrunner Dave Filoni said that he thinks he might make it canon that an older-looking Rebel extra was actually the clone captain still fighting the Empire, however, that appears to not have been enough to warrant a separate character in The Skywalker Saga.
Fans have made their disappointment clear about Rex’s exclusion from the game along with plenty of other extended universe fan favorites, but there hasn’t been any mention about his addition to the game. Some have speculated that he and other Clone Wars and Rebels characters might eventually make their way into The Skywalker Saga as DLC, but Traveller’s Tales hasn’t said anything to confirm that. It’s ultimately pretty frustrating as Rex was included in LEGO Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars so it felt like he would be a shoo-in inclusion for the most recent game.
