E-Line Media has announced the Never Alone: Arctic Collection will finally be arriving on Nintendo Switch later this month, as well teased players with the news of a sequel in pre-production. The puzzle-platformer adventure game first launched in November 2014 on PS4 and Xbox One. Never Alone was almost immediately met with praise from both critics and gamers, meaning a sequel will be greatly welcomed by the gaming community. A Nintendo Switch release will allow the title to be introduced to a whole new host of players. Check out the new trailer below.
Game publishers, E-Line Media said on the Iñupiaq-inspired game, “Experience the epic journey of Nuna and Fox as they search for the source of an eternal blizzard that threatens the survival of everything they have ever known. Never Alone is an atmospheric puzzle platformer developed in collaboration with the Iñupiat, an Alaska Native people, drawn from a traditional story that has been shared across the generations. Guide both characters in single-player mode or play cooperatively with a friend as you trek through frozen tundra, leap across treacherous ice floes, swim through underwater caverns and face enemies both strange and familiar.” The upcoming Arctic Collection will include the original Never Alone game, as well as the Foxtales DLC.
Never Alone had nearly 40 Alaskan Native elders, storytellers, and community members contribute to the creation of the game. It went on to appear in over 75 “Best of 2014” lists, as well as won the 2015 BAFTA for “Best Debut Game.” Additional awards include Game Awards 2015 “Game of the Year” and Games for Change Awards’ 2015 “Most Significant Impact” award.
Gamers can look forward to playing the Never Alone: Arctic Collection on February 24th on Nintendo Switch and hopefully it isn’t too long until more information on the upcoming sequel is revealed.
