Fallout 4 Will Let You Switch Between Codsworth And Dogmeat

June 19, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Sometimes you feel like a robot, sometimes you feel like a dog.

Can’t decide whether you want to stick with Codsworth or Dogmeat as your companion in Fallout 4? We have good news for you then.

Pete Hines confirmed that you can choose to switch between them if you wanted. You do not necessarily get to switch between them anytime you want. Instead, you can go back to where you started in the game anytime, and then switch from one to the other.

It’s likely that you will get several opportunities to go back and switch between them, so you may want to take advantage of this to make the most out of your playthrough. Codsworth and Dogmeat each have different skills and will give you different cues and paths to find things in the same area.

Other than that, of course, you may simply change your preference mid-game. There may be some days when Codsworth will get to your nerves, and some days when Dogmeat isn’t who you need.

Will you be switching between these two? Or do you have another preferred companion? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. Fallout 4 will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
