New indie studio Skyshine Games has just completed a successful Kickstarter campaign for its Roguelike RPG Bedlam. After asking for $130K, the team wound up with nearly $170K, clearing stretch goals that will improve the audio quality, add a dungeon crawl scenario, and more.
Bedlam takes place in a post-apocalyptic world inspired by games like The Banner Saga and XCOM as well as '80s graphic novels. You travel with a crew aboard a mobile fortress called a Dozer, which can be upgraded and repaired throughout the adventure, and which can aid you during the game's turn-based battles by providing stat buffs or additional fire.
Skyshine includes John Mueller, who served as art director for Vigil Games; Jeff Johnson, who worked on arcade sports titles NBA Hangtime and NFL Blitz; Sam Gage, visual effects artist on Darksiders; and more. If you want to keep up with Bedlam's developments, follow the homepage here.
