NBA 2K15’s Face Scan technology is a pretty powerful tool that allows players to insert themselves into the game by scanning their faces in with the game’s built-in program. Unfortunately, making sure your face comes out looking like it’s supposed to can be a challenge in and of itself, and doing it incorrectly can result in some truly horrendous faces, as exhibited by our article here.
To that end, we’ve compiled this guide on how to get your face looking just right—as it’s supposed to—in NBA 2K15’s Face Scan program.
Here’s what you’ll need to do.
1. You’ll need natural or white light shining at your face from all possible angles. Other colors, such as light from fluorescent lamps, will affect your skintone.
2. You can use your TV or monitor as a key light to brighten up your face.
3. Ensure that your face—from forehead to chin—fills up the green box, or you’ll risk creating a character with a small head. Most importantly, keep your chin up.
4. When the program prompts you to rotate your head, simply rotate your head 30 degrees both ways. Rotate your head as slowly as possible.
5. Do not look at the screen when rotating your head. Keep your eyes locked on the camera lens.
