A small change has been made to Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII web portal seemingly overnight. It's right there at the bottom, next to the PS3 and Xbox 360 logos. See that familiar Steam logo? Does that mean what I think it means?
This discovery comes in advance of this weekend's Tokyo Game Show, where the potential announcment of PC ports of one or all of the FFXIII trilogy would be bound to make the greatest impact. Fans have been requesting PC versions of the latest titles in the series for some years now, but Square Enix has shot them down at every turn. Better late than never, right?
As for that fourth logo at the bottom of the page, that represents Square Enix's Dive In, a streaming service comparable to PlayStation Now to allows people to rent select Sqaure Enix games for play on mobile devices. It will launch in Japan on October 9 with Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XIII, and Season of Mystery: The Cherry Blossom Murders. Eventually it will receive the remaining two entries in the FFXIII trilogy. No word yet on a Western release for the service.
