4J Studios has given an update on the status of Minecraft for PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, it is not the news you want to hear.

The build they sent has failed Sony’s certification test. Sony found some issues that 4J will now have to review and fix. As a result, they will have to go through the entire certification process all over again.
The PlayStation 4 version ofMinecraft is not a simple port of the PlayStation 3 version. 4J has stated that the PS4 version will have a world 36 times larger than the PS3 version.
4J has yet to announce a change in the scheduled August release for the PS4 version, and for that matter, the Xbox One and Vita versions. In fact, they not shared specific release dates for any of them. However, based on 4J’s updates, a delayed release after August is definitely a possibility for all versions.
