Today is Bungie Day, a celebration of the studio which created Halo and is currently working on Destiny, and to mark the occasion, the Washington based developer has released a trailer for the upcoming beta.
Access to the beta is awarded when you pre-order the game and Bungie has stated that it begins on July 17th on PS3 and PS4 but play will be suspended on the 21st and 22nd for server maintainance before launching on Xbox 360 and Xbox One on July 23rd.
There will also be a 'Beta Rally Day' for all platforms on July 26th when players will receive a special reward for playing on that date which will presumably carry over to the final release.
The beta will be the first time Xbox players have had a chance to play the game following the PlayStation exclusive alpha last month. Bungie has said that improvements based on player experiences and feedback in the alpha have already helped to shape the beta and the final game release.
Voice acting, one aspect which was criticised in the alpha, should also be improved.
Here's what Bungie has to say about the beta:
"The Destiny Beta is your first step on the path to adventure, beginning July 17th on PlayStation and July 23rd on Xbox. Explore the vast expanses of the world of Destiny, fight through riveting story missions, strike deep within enemy strongholds alongside a fireteam, or compete for glory against your fellow Guardians in the action-packed competitive multiplayer."
