US Law Firm Lawsuit Filed Against CD Projekt Red

December 28, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco launch is bringing lawsuits.

Well before 2020, there was a ton of hype and anticipation building up for Cyberpunk 2077. This was all for good reason too. The developers behind Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red, was known for incredible RPG titles to the incredible hit trilogy series, The Witcher. With this next installment, players were expecting a far bigger experience, but what they received was a buggy mess.

Cyberpunk 2077 might have been hyped up for years, but it was clear that after the game launched, the studio could have used a lot more time developing the game. There were countless bugs that either prevented players from progressing the narrative campaign, long texture load times, NPCs, and AI behavior glitches, among a slew of others. There has been a constant influx of videos uploading online as well to show off just some of the more bizarre bugs that have come out from this game.

With that said, there were still quite a few fans and critics that praised the title. However, those that had it the worse for this game was players on a base model PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platform. These platforms were far behind the optimization made for the premium tier models such as the PlayStation 4 Pro or the next-generation console platforms.

Some would go on to say these games were just unplayable at launch. With a severe amount of bugs, random crashes to frame rate drops. It ended up with players requesting refunds for both physical and digital copies. That’s not something that the developers wanted or its investors.

Investors saw a massive drop in stock due to the game launch as well and it prompted some law firms to consider issuing a class action lawsuit against CD Projekt Red. Today we’re finding out that a New York law firm by the name of Rosen Law Firm, has filed a lawsuit against the development studio. This was due to the game’s poor optimization with comments made by the development studio suggesting the title was in far better shape than what it was. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if any other law firms issue lawsuits and just what will come from these legal actions against the studio.
