Sony has just confirmed that Naughty Dog’s smash hit title The Last of Us will be getting a remastered edition on the PlayStation 4, providing essential details about the game and all it entails. We reported earlier today that the game had popped up on the Sony PlayStation store.
According to a post on the official PlayStation Blog, The Last of Us Remastered will be redone in complete 1080p with a list of upgrades including higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lightning, upgraded textures, and undisclosed “even more improvements”.
“We love setting challenging technical hurdles for us when working on each game – and this is no different. We’ve been working hard on The Last of Us Remastered to release a next-gen evolution worthy of the 200+ Game of the Year awards, not to mention the acclaim and expectations of our fans,” wrote Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer. “We will be revealing more detailed information about the upgrades for the PS4 version in the coming months.”
In addition to the core game, The Last of Us Remastered will include the Left Behind expansion pack, the Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack, and a Reclaimed Territories pack, details of which have not yet been revealed.
You can pre-order the game right now from retailers or directly through the PlayStation Store for extra pre-order bonuses to unlocks in the game’s Factions multiplayer mode.
It's out Summer 2014.
