Gaming computers are very quick to become obsolete. Getting a beast of a machine to play the latest games may soon fall behind at the rate of new components being released into the market. Still, depending on how old the components are, you’ll usually find that the latest video games can still hold up on your personal rig. That’s of course usually the case for those that buy a prebuilt gaming PC to those that built their own custom desktop. Still, gaming PCs are certainly not cheap, and sometimes making upgrades is something that you will find putting off.
If by chance you’re struggling with a PC that only has 4 GB of RAM then you’re still not out of luck. We’ve seen several examples of modern games being capable to run on systems that are limited to the amount of RAM mentioned. There is not an easy way to list out video games that will guarantee to work on your PC with the limited RAM. In fact, this is a mileage may vary situation so it’s best to research the game and see how it will hold up with your particular components. For instance, Can You Run It, is a great website that will analyze your PC hardware and showcase if you meet the requirements for both minimum and recommended specifications. This should help you narrow down some of the problematic areas of your PC.
Still, here are some games that are still considered modern that may run with the limited RAM capacity. Again, certain titles may ask for a minimum amount of RAM but using some research online could showcase some examples of the games being played with just 4 GB. With that said, these are just 10 examples that we are not ranking in any particular order. Of course, you’ll need to make sure the rest of your PC can match up with the system requirements along with doing some of your own research to ensure that you can play these or similar video game titles.
#10 Kerbal Space Program
If you enjoy some trial-and-error then give Kerbal Space Program a try. This is a game where players take control of a space initiative where you must successfully complete missions in space but to do so, you’ll have to craft up a ship. It’s not an easy job as you can make quite a few different unique spacecraft. However, you’ll soon find out that not every ship you build will be able to lift off properly. You’ll find that there will be several tweaks you’ll need to go over to launch a ship without it exploding, losing control along with landing perfectly.
As mentioned, there is a big challenge as you’ll likely endure several trial-and-error moments. However, once you get the hang of things, you can continue to build new spacecraft that will offer a bit more power or mechanics that should make for some endless fun. All you need to do is see where to make the adjustments and hope its enough to make the ship suitable for a mission.
#9 The Witcher 3
Fans of western RPGs will no doubt have played at least one of the Witcher games. With its deep rich narrative journeys and fleshed out worlds, the trilogy has wrapped up with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As expected the third installment not only saw a massive overhaul in terms of graphics but provided gamers with a much more lively world filled with quests and exploration. This was such a massive hit that it gained attention to players that were newcomers to the franchise altogether.
The deep lore, action RPG style of gameplay, and plenty of quests to take on, you’ll find yourself spending plenty of time with Geralt of Rivia. Not to mention that the new Netflix series adaptation has continued to find newcomers for the series to this very day. With that said, it will be a game you’ll have to crank the settings down a bit and if you’re looking to dive into the game without having played the previous installments then we would highly recommend looking at some YouTube videos that will help recap the story, characters along with some useful information to help you out when starting the third installment.
