There are pros and cons when it comes to going into a digital age. The biggest con for some would be the fact that at any moment, something could be taken away. Digital marketplaces for video game titles have seen it before. When licenses end and deals are not formed once again, the game could find itself lost without players being able to purchase a copy. This happened to DuckTales: Remastered.
The video game was a remastered edition of the 1989 Nintendo Entertainment System release which features Scrooge McDuck platforming through a series of obstacles. It was a well-received video game title and one that not only appealed to fans of the original game but also newcomers as well. However, back in August of 2019, the video game was removed from digital storefronts after Capcom’s and Disney deal came to an end.
This sparked a price jump for physical copies along with those interested in the game quickly purchasing a digital version before it was too late. Now it looks like a deal has been reached between the two parties which will allow DuckTales: Remastered to once again grace the digital storefronts. Players will be able to purchase a copy of the game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and lastly, Steam.
If you haven’t given the game a try, then you’ll at least have the ability to purchase it today and see what you’ve been missing. For now, take a look at the gameplay footage featured below.
