Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Best Mode To Play To Rank Up Fast| Multiplayer XP Guide

October 26, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Earn more XP and climb the ranks faster with these multiplayer tips.

A few from the sky.

Modern Warfare (2019) is a new Call of Duty game from the ground up. Everything has been tweaked, updated, or improved — and that includes a ton of new multiplayer features. If you’re aiming to speed to the top of the totem pole and rank up quickly, some multiplayer modes are totally better than others. It’s a little bit like earning XP in Call of Duty: Mobile; it’s all about maximizing your time / kill ratios.

To get the most kills in the fastest amount of time, you’ll want to pick one specific mode that’s head-and-shoulders the best way to earn XP right now. You can earn weapon XP in Campaign, and you can even earn Multiplayer XP in the Co-Op Spec Ops mode — though not a lot of people are playing that right now. If you’re looking to earn ranks and reach the top, check out the tips below.

NOTE: To rank up even faster, make sure to play through the Campaign to earn double XP tokens. Once activated, the countdown begins right away. so set aside some time to get the most out of your tokens.

Right now, the best way to reach the top rank is through Ground War. The 32vs32 mode is massive — it takes a long time to complete a match, but if you’re wracking up tons of kills, you can earn huge XP rewards. A single match can net you 20,000~ XP.

Keep in mind, if you’re playing for kills, you’ll need to change your playstyle slightly. The objectives are kill-boxes. They’re way too dangerous. Instead, you’ll want to focus on two easy ways to get plenty of kills — sniping, and vehicles.

Keep in mind, if you’re playing for kills, you’ll need to change your playstyle slightly. The objectives are kill-boxes. They’re way too dangerous. Instead, you’ll want to focus on two easy ways to get plenty of kills — sniping, and vehicles.

The tallest buildings are best.

Sniping Tips: If you’ve got a team to coordinate, move to the center of the map and try to take control of the center tallest structure. Huge skyscrapers are a great place to hold. Look out for twinkling lights in the distance — that means another sniper is trying to catch you. It helps if your team captures another rooftop, but you don’t really need to hold the objective to hold a rooftop.

Take control of high ground, get kills with sniper rifles — or just camp and get tons of standard kills. UAVs are incredibly important in this mode, so I recommend selecting a UAV and a Counter UAV in your scorestreaks.

Try to avoid tank vs. tank engagements.

Vehicle Tips: The best way to earn XP, currently, is by jumping into a vehicle. The armored vehicles can grind down kills like nobody’s business. Go to where the action is hottest and just blast everyone you can. Vehicles are killers, and you’ll be surprised (at this early stage) how few players will load in with a rocket launcher to counter them.

Earning tons of kills with the vehicle, and camping out kills on the rooftops — that’s the best strategy. It’s a pretty lame way to play, but if you’re looking to score fast XP while your double XP token is in effect, give Ground War some practice, see how it all works, and dig in.
