Fortnite: Play A Minigame In The Black Hole With The Famous Konami Code

October 15, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Defeat the Durrburger in this ridiculous Easter egg, hidden in an already ridiculous Black Hole event.

Fortnite has been sucked into a black hole — and it’s all in anticipation for Chapter 2. Or, more likely, Fortnite was sucked into a black hole, because by the time you actually get around to actually reading this, the whole end-of-the-world event will be over, and Chapter 2 will be here for everyone to explore.

But, if you’re one of the lucky few (6+ million) that logged in during this two day Fortnite draught, you would be lucky enough to experience a weird little minigame that puts you in direct competition with Fortnite legends like Peely and Jonesy. All you need to do is input the Konami Code — a famous cheat code that’s been floating around the video game landscape for a very long time.

Black Hole Event – Konami Code Easter Egg

Here’s how it works. Log into your Fortnite game, and on 10/13/19-10/14/19, the screen gets sucked into a black hole. With nothing on the screen, most players just twiddled their thumbs — or jumped to Twitter.

But, if players input the Konami Code, you’ll unlock a simple Spaces Invaders-esque minigame where you play as a Pizza Ship shooting Durrburgers. Score 1 point per burger you blast, and eventually a giant hamburger boss will appear. Defeat that, and you’ll earn a quick Vicdurry.

  • How To Input The Konami Code:
    • [NS] Up – Up – Down – Down – Left – Right – Left – Right – A – B – Plus
    • [XB1] Up – Up – Down – Down – Left – Right – Left – Right – B – A – Start
    • [PS4] Up – Up – Down – Down – Left – Right – Left – Right – Circle – Cross – Options

It’s a super simple game, and even if the event is passed by the time this article goes up and anyone bothers to read it, it’s still worth sketching down onto the timeline of history. We will remember you fondly, Black Hole event.
