There are twice as many levels as you might think in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. There is an alternate, more difficult version of every single chapter in the game — and to unlock them, you have to solve little puzzles in the overworld. They’re all pretty close by, so you won’t have to travel too far to unlock these levels.
Twice the levels means twice the TWIT coins. You can gain a total of 10 TWIT coins per chapter when you finish the flipside, and here we’re covering your second set of 50 Coins. Here’s where to find the many secret areas all throughout that alternate Chapters 1-10.

Twit Coins are collectibles that you’ll need to unlock new sections of the map. There are 200 total — and you’ll need them all to open every single paywall.
Alternate Chapter 1: Capitol Causeway – Chaos
- Coin #1: Go left at the start of the level and climb the stack of crates instead of smashing them.
- Coin #2: Complete the ghost quill challenge to get a bomb and break open this easily visible coin cage in the water area ahead.
- Coin #3: Buddy Stomp through the hatch guarded by a flying enemy.
- Coin #4: Climbing out of the water on the moss, go up to the top, opposite the water spout, to find this coin in a hidden alcove.
- Coin #5: Found in the area with the crumbling platforms and grinders. At the end, bounce off the red quill to survive!
Alternate Chapter 2: Factory Fright – Flood
- Coin #1: Near the start, go into the green door.
- Coin #2: In the underwater section, go down to the area with two connected buzzsaws. To the right, there’s a narrow path that leads to a secret area.
- Coin #3: At the end of the buzzsaw chase sequence, find an alcove above the checkpoint.
- Coin #4: Exiting the underwater, bounce on both jetpack enemies to discover a hidden green door.
- Coin #5: Right behind the level exit.
Alternate Chapter 3: Wild Web Woods – Wilder
- Coin #1: Left of the starting point, behind where the endless stream of enemies spawn.
- Coin #2: Right above a bramble that kills the endless enemies. Grab a fruit from a hidden alcove earlier and spit it at the coin crate.
- Coin #3: Found in a hollow tree trunk. Grab a bouncy pad fruit and use it to reach a cannon you can’t normally jump to.
- Coin #4: At the top of a hollow tree trunk, Buddy Stomp through the hatch to activate the ghost quill. Grab all the quills before they disappear.
- Coin #5: Near the end, you’ll run through a cave and jump to three hanging ropes. Jump to the third rope and climb down to find a cage. You’ll need a bomb to crack it open.
Alternate Chapter 4: Frantic Fountain – Frozen
- Coin #1: Smash the crate in the room to the left of the starting spot.
- Coin #2: Climb the four ice pillars, and you’ll see the coin above. Smash the crates so you can bounce off an enemy.
- Coin #3: Rolling through three enemies under a low spiked ceiling, jump into the alcove right past that.
- Coin #4: Impossible to miss. It’s above the green door. Don’t defeat the enemy — instead, smash the crates and bounce off it.
- Coin #5: Right behind the level exit.
Alternate Chapter 5: Gasping Glade – Grown
- Coin #1: At the start, lure the running red enemy near the tree platforms to reach this coin.
- Coin #2: Grab a bounce plant seed before dropping down the tower with spiky plants. There’s a high coin that can only be reached by spitting a bounce pad under it.
- Coin #3: Find a bomb after that to break open the coin cage at the next checkpoint. If you reach the checkpoint without a bomb, you’ll have to restart.
- Coin #4: Right after the previous coin, there’s a series of bounce pads. The coin is hidden in the trees below.
- Coin #5: Near the end of the level, when sliding down the vine, just drop and glide to the bounce pad to reach this coin.
Alternate Chapter 6: Sawblade Evade – Stuck
- Coin #1: Through the second locked door on the map. Get the key by climbing the sticky wall.
- Coin #2: Past the first coin, go to the exit green door and climb up the sticky walls.
- Coin #3: Leaving the sticky factory area, climb onto the roof of the building outside using the sticky walls.
- Coin #4: Leave the second buzzsaw factory through the upper secret exit.
- Coin #5: Right before the end of the level, climb up the sticky walls to the top platform.
Alternate Chapter 7: Production Path – Panic
- Coin #1: Just go left from the starting point. The trick Is just being quick enough to survive the purple beam.
- Coin #2: On the cog wheel, past the buzzsaws and stampers.
- Coin #3: Past the next checkpoint, get on the raised conveyor platforms.
- Coin #4: Keep going on the platforms with Coin #3 to eventually reach this coin too.
- Coin #5: Past the level exit, in a secret room to the left.
Alternate Chapter 8: Windmill Way – Windy
- Coin #1: Ride the first windmill up, then jump to the platform. Ride it as the wind blows, and jump to the quill.
- Coin #2: Leaving the first interior, complete the ghost quill to get a bomb and blast open the coin cage.
- Coin #3: When you reach the giant windmill blades, use the smaller wheels tips to jump high enough.
- Coin #4: At the checkpoint below the bee hive lamp, go up and climb over the top wheel.
- Coin #5: Near the end, after jumping over the four spinning vertical windmills, drop down and grab the quill below the first normal windmill.
Alternate Chapter 9: Urban Uprise – Updraft
- Coin #1: Ride the first tornado and grab the gold quill to launch into the secret area with this coin crate.
- Coin #2: While riding the wind high up, look right for an optional challenge area. Complete the ghost quill to earn a coin.
- Coin #3: Grab a fruit and use it to break the crate floating above the seesaw.
- Coin #4: In the really big room, float up and go right to find a coin guarded by four flyers. Jump carefully!
- Coin #5: In the tall shaft where you have to dodge multiple turrets, push against the right wall to reveal a secret room.
Alternate Chapter 10: Ropeburn Bridge – Rerouted
- Coin #1: Found at the end of the first waterway in a hidden area.
- Coin #2: In a coin crate, above a crab enemy after climbing a rope.
- Coin #3: When you reach bramble with a missing piece above and a single gold quill — bounce off the enemy to reach that quill.
- Coin #4: At the end of a long rope ride, jump left at the top to find a hidden coin. A cannon will launch you back out.
- Coin #5: Go past the level exit and slide down the ropes.
