New Sources Claim GTA 5 Will Hit PC in Early 2014

October 10, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

Further rumors have arisen that place a PC version of GTA 5 on the 2014 calendar.

Look, Rockstar is going to release Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC. At this point, it almost has to. We’ve seen leaks from major players like Amazon and Nvidia, but a new report coming from Eurogamer claims that the open-world title will be making an appearance on the PC in early 2014. Rejoice.

Unfortunately, we currently have to trust “multiple industry sources” for this rumor. I don’t know if you remember, but “industry sources” have been wrong before. It’s not a named person or anything of the sort, but this schedule is similar to what we saw from GTA 4. The game first launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 April 2008, and soon saw the PC love that December.

When asked to comment on the news, Rockstar simply pointed Eurogamer to an “Asked & Answered” section on the Rockstar newswire that provides the following statement.

"The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which are set for a Sept. 17 worldwide release," the post reads. "We don't have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now."

That seems to be all we’re going to get for now. Enjoy GTA 5 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but if you’re dedicated to your high-end PC, it’s pretty safe to assume that the game will make it there eventually.
