Microsoft unveiled that a new video game development studio would be working on brand new IPs for the Xbox platform. This studio is known as The Initiative and it’s packing on some developers who helped bring out some pretty incredible video game titles in the past. Now thanks to a report made by VGC, we know of some the recent hires made recently.
The Initiative is a studio at Santa Monica, California which will be releasing new video game titles under the Xbox umbrella. It’s unknown at the moment of what the studio is working on first, but we do know that some of the people who make the studio up have some pretty incredible resumes. So far we know that recently, the studio hired Ian Miller, Kai Zheng, Chris O’Neill and Ray Yeomans who were level designers for God of War on the PlayStation 4. Likewise, according to the report made by VGC, Naughty Dog senior designer Robert Ryan has decided to step into the news studio.
It looks like the studio is hiring developers who had some work with action-adventure titles with some incredible design detail. While the studio has made some hires recently for the studio, there are still plenty of positions available to be filled. On the official website for The Initiative, we know that the studio is still looking for an art director, senior gameplay animator, writers, engineers to even producers. It may be a little while before the studio is fully stocked with employees and out of speculation, whatever is being worked on right now from The Initiative will likely be aimed for the Project Scarlett platform.
