THQ Nordic has become more prominent in the news as of late over the various IPs they managed to swoop up and purchase. For instance, the company has since picked up series such as TimeSplitters, Alone in the Dark, Wreckfest, and Expeditions. However, it doesn’t look like the company is slowing down anytime soon as they managed to secure over $200 million through new Class B Shares. As new investors purchased these shares, THQ Nordic was able to bring in enough funds to further play around with.
This will certainly help flesh out the IPs and content that THQ Nordic can deliver over the years so now it’s become a waiting game to see what IP they will acquire next. The CEO of THQ Nordic spoke to Gamesindustry.biz where Lars Wingefors stated that he wants his companies to be financed through making great video games which would be bought by fans. Perhaps with the new IPs acquired from titles that have laid dormant over the years could help bring in plenty of interest for THQ Nordic, but the fact is, there are still more IPs out there and development studios that could be purchased, furthering the assets available for the company.
As of right now, there are no leads as to what THQ Nordic is looking to acquire first, but we’re certainly interested. THQ Nordic also has a ton of video game titles slated to launch this year alone. To Highlight a few, players can expect Biomutant, Wreckfest, Scarf, to a new untitled Expeditions game. For now, we’ll have to wait and see just what THQ Nordic acquires next.
