During an interview with Consequence of Sound, we learned that famed director – John Carpenter — would love to score a video game!
Carpenter is known for a lot of movies, but his biggest is no doubt the masked serial killer, Michael Myers, from Halloween. The theme for the movie itself is phenomenal; now, imagine putting that mind for music in a video game environment? It would be astounding.
Check out the section of the interview where John says he would like to score a video game:
You’re a big gamer and I wondered if that had any influence on this.
[Laughs] I didn’t think of that, but I think there’s a part of me that’s dying to do a game score, I’m just dying to do it, but I don’t think anybody will hire me. No one thinks about me to do music for games, that’d be great!
John Carpenter is no doubt a legend, a master with the keyboard. Some of the most iconic themes come from some of his movies. Now, with the official word out, would you like to see the famed director take a shot at scoring a video game? I would. Hopefully, some studio picks him up sooner than later.
