Vampyr, the narrative based title from Dotnod and Focus Home Interactive had quite the fruitful launch. Today Focus Home Interactive announced that the game has sold 450,000 copies across the PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in its first month on the market. Focus did previously state that they would need to sell around 500,000 copies in order to turn a profit, which they are well on their way to achieving. Give it a couple of months and they should hit this goal in no time.
Critically Vampyr has been doing considerably well, coming off as innovative for the Studio Dotnod and praiTsed for its well-woven story and refreshing combat system.
The game follows the story of Jonathan Reid, a doctor-turned-vampire, who now has to come to terms with what it means to be a vampire. The games focus is mainly on the internal conflict Reid faces – does he sate his biological bloodlust or go against the Hippocratic Oath he swore at the start of his career?
Vampyr is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
