Sony has released a new live action trailer of God of War: Ascension, parts of which were teased on Facebook and elsewhere. The trailer depicts Kratos' sad reunion with his family, who turn to ash before his very eyes.
In addition to the video, Sony and their Santa Monica Studio, the developers of the God of War series have released a dozen screenshots of their upcoming game, God of War: Ascension.
God of War: Ascension is set before the events of the first God of War title and tells the story of Kratos' escape from the Furies' prison and his subsequent ascension to becoming the God of War. Deemed a traitor to his people, Kratos must fight to free himself and kill his captors, a task he has no difficulty doing given his martial prowess and his skill with the Blades of Chaos, which he acquires at the start of the game.
The screenshots depict Kratos in in his full glory as he makes his way through the early stages of the game, and takes on monsters like Manticore. You can check them out below:
They certainly know how to advertise a game.
