Monster Hunter 4 is the next game in the long-running series of Monster Hunter games. Extremely popular in Japan, the Monster Hunter series of games is more than capable of moving hundreds of thousands of units for a platform and is widely regarded as a ‘killer app’ for any device it’s released on. The
Capcom has put together a brand new trailer for Monster Hunter 4, which is set to grace the Nintendo 3DS handheld.
Despite being powered by moderate, and not high-end hardware, the game looks incredibly gorgeous on the handheld, while making full use of its 3D capabilities.
The trailer showcases many things from the game, including its main characters, never before seen cities populated by countless denizens and smiths who will provide the player with items, and even a flying ship. We’re then treated to views of the wilderness, which range everywhere from deserts and plains to jungles, forests and swamps.
A bit of combat is shown as the player battles giant dinosaurs and is entrapped by spiders, wielding ludicrously large weapons to defeat them.
The game is set for release later this year and is exclusive to the 3DS. There’s no word on when the game will show up on the Wii U or any other platform, so we’ll regard it as an exclusive for the time being.
