Yet Another Game From The Creator Of Cave Story Is Headed To The 3DS

November 14, 2012 by Matt Hawkins

At this point, pretty much everything he’s done will be on Nintendo’s handheld.

Daisuke Amaya is best known as the creator of Cave Story. His game has been widely considered the catalyst that spawned the modern indie movement across the globe that we're currently enjoying today. It's also a terrific little title, and long time fans are happy that it's finally being experienced by the masses.

At this point, it has been practically everywhere, from the Wii to Steam, with more destinations pending (including the Xbox 360 and the PS3). But those know will agree that the game truly shines the most on a portable, with the DSi and 3DS versions being the best experiences possible.

Which is why it is all the more appropriate that yet another title from the man who calls himself pixel is being prepared for the latter platform. Tiny Cartridge reports that Guxt, a shump that he produced circa 2007, is finally making its official appearance on American shores, courtesy of Nicalis.

Guxt will join Ikachan, another title that was originally released as freeware in Japan, sometime in the near future. Presumably in the Nintendo eShop. Hopefully, everyone will know that Amaya is far from a one trick pony.
