There’s a brand new trailer out for Frozen Synapse 2, which showcases the game’s new weapons and area-of-effect devices.
Like the first game, Frozen Synapse 2 plays out in turns and phases, with both players (or the player and the AI) pre-empting and planning out their moves before executing them simultaneously. The game encourages players to consider all possible tactical outcomes—weighing risk vs reward to kill as many enemies as possible while getting squaddies out of harm’s way.
In the sequel, players will now command squads in a vast, procedurally generated city (as opposed to a cramped level). You can enter any building, take on missions, and execute a wide variety of strategies.
Watch the trailer above. The game comes out on PC later this year.
