SNK Playmore, the developers of King of Fighters XIV has revealed an all new character in a newly released trailer for the PlayStation. The game is exclusive for the PS4 and will be released later this year.
The new character is Banderas Hattori, who appears to have a crush on Mai Shiranui, who will be returning to the series in the latest game. Mai is of course the game’s most well-recognized character. The two do battle as he attempts to give her some sweet talk and charm her into training him as a fighter. She’s not really interested in doing that.
The previous game in the series came out for the PC, so there’s a good chance this one will, too, but SNK Playmore has yet to make any announcements regarding a possible port, so it’s a PS4 exclusive—for now.
Like Street Fighter V, KOF14 features 3D models who do battle across a 2D plane. It’s the first title in the series to feature 3D graphics, with all previous titles offering sprite-based graphics.
Despite the game’s graphical change, it will continue to offer the “3-on-3 Team Battle” game system that made the series a hit over the years.
The new title will offer a returning cast of old characters as well as some new ones like the guy in the video above.
