Trendy Entertainment has just announced that Dungeon Defenders II is now free to play on the PC. The game, which is currently available via Steam Early Access, is now available to everyone .
The game entered open alpha on the heels of last week's "Ascension" update, which added a host of changes to the game including bigger towers, enemy rebalancing, and all new attack variations for the game's diverse assortment of weapons. The patch also added a new Stat Allocation System, allowing players to choose where to spend their points while leveling up.
The developers aren't done yet, and plan to add more content on October 27 with holiday-themed maps, new bosses, hero builds, and costumes.
Dungeon Defenders II is the sequel to the co-op tower defense game. Upon release, it will be free to play and supported by what the studio terms "ethical" in-game microtransactions on the PS4, PC, Mac and Linux. There are no plans for an Xbox One version.
