If you didn't know, Visceral Games held a "Tools of Terror" contest where fans submitted their original gun suggestions that included their own unique name and description.
Now a winner has been picked and it's none other than Caleb Mendoza with his gun, the "HUN-E1 Badger."
According to Caleb, here's the description of the "Honey Badger" and what it does:
Getting in close quarters with the HUN-E1 Badger will cost an arm and a leg, literally. The HUN-E1 Badger is capable of shooting flaming rivets at all unfortunate enough to be in front of it. If anything is brave or stupid enough to get within arm's reach of the HUN-E1 Badger it will get cut down to size.
The Upper Tool consists of a Telemetry Spike and Conic Dispersal with ammo support, perfect for keeping charging Necromorphs at bay. The Lower Tool is made up of a Hydraulic Cutter and Precision Adapter with a flame glaze to cut down and torch anything that gets through the initial shots.
Here's a video of the weapon in action and watch as teh HUN-E1 Badger gets created in Dead Space 3's new "weapon builder" feature.
So, what does Caleb get for winning the competition? Not only will his specially-designed gun be in the game, but his face will be appearing in Dead Space 3, too! Additionally, Visceral will be sending him some "pretty cool gear" as well.
The question is, will Caleb be an NPC or be a Necromorph? It would be kind of surreal to have to shoot yourself even if it's in a game, no?
Dead Space 3 is scheduled for a February release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
