Sparkypants Studios have announced earlier today that their new game, Dropzone has hit early access on Steam. The game is a high speed, sci-fi real-time strategy/MOBA Mashup game; bringing players from all sorts of backgrounds and having them experience one giant mashup of genres in one title.
You might know developer SparkyPants from of your other favorite RTS games like Rise of Nations, Civilization II, or Alpha Centauri. However, their latest game brings a hybrid of Real-Time Strategy (RTS) and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) action distilled down to accessible 15-minute skirmishes.
“Players are the backbone of Sparkypants Studios, and their feedback and support has helped us turn Dropzone into a game that’s quick and modern while retaining the feel of classic RTS multiplayer,” said Jason Coleman, President, Sparkypants. “Internally, we’ve said that our goal is to ‘deconstruct’ the RTS genre, working to build an accessible game for a broad range of players that offers fierce competition and flexible playstyles in fast sessions.”
