Halo Wars 2 Receives Launch Trailer; Gives Back Story of Main Villain, Atriox

Microsoft has released the launch trailer for their upcoming real-time strategy title, Halo Wars 2. The trailer gives viewers a little backstory of the main foe they will be going up against.

His name is Atriox, and he might be the most powerful enemy ever. As you can see from the trailer, Atriox has a vicious army at his disposal, making things very rough for the UNSC Spirit of Fire, the small crew of soldiers players will control.

Halo Wars 2 take place nearly thirty years after the events of Halo Wars, players will take on the role of Captain James Cutter. Unaware the Human-Covenant war has concluded, James Cutter stumbles upon a new faction known as the Banished, a group that broke away from the Covenant.

Lead armies of Spartans and other Halo fighting forces like Warthogs, Scorpions and exciting new units in a brutal war against a terrifying new enemy. Featuring campaign, multiplayer, and the all-new Blitz mode, this is the biggest Halo battlefield ever.

Microsoft and THQ Nordic has also announced that they will be partnering up to release a physical version of Halo Wars 2 for the PC. The two announced physical versions of the game will come packed with goodies for players. Both the standard and the physical edition will come with a code for the game, a couple of disks, and premium quality packaging.

Halo Wars 2 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning your digital purchase grants you access to the game on both platforms. The game will be available on both PC and Xbox One on February 21.
