At the recent gaming event PAX Prime, Sony Santa Monica held its first-ever God of War panel. In it, they talk about and show the God of War franchise's creation process.
From the environments, to the enemies, we get to see early concept art and a few things they cut out from the original games. One of things they also showed off was a Kratos with actual hair! I admit, it's a bit disconcerting to see God of War's main man with a frock.
It starts about 4:30 in the video below.
Aside from his ashen skin and red markings, his baldness is also one of his trademark features. If you don't care at all in seeing Kratos with hair, the video also shows rudimentary animation of Kratos' combat moves, traversing movements and more. I particularly like the part where they showed all the Kratos faces side-by-side. They all look the same but with little nuances that show how he ages.
If you're a God of War fan, you owe it to yourself to watch this 11-minute clip. It certainly gives us more insight into the creation of Sony's angriest hero.
The latest installment of the franchise, God of War: Ascension, is set for release on March 12, 2013 for the PS3.
