While Gearbox still has yet to release Borderlands 2 and Aliens: Colonial Marines, studio boss Randy Pitchford admits that the studio is already working on next-gen offerings.
In an interview with Gamasutra, Pitchford teased people a bit regarding their plans for next-gen.
We've got a few things going on right now that we haven't talked about but that'll appear later.
While he didn't go into further details, or acknowledge Sony and Microsoft's future platforms, He did state, "more power is always better," and adds," There's always things we can do that we cannot do today that we can do with more power. So, that's always true."
Pitchford shares, "I'm always excited by movement forward…Some of that comes from iteration with our software, and some of it comes from iteration with hardware, and some of it comes from invention… each new step kind of gives us new tools and new capabilities that always makes the entertainment better, if we use it right."
So, does this mean Borderlands 3 is slatanother game in Aliensed for next-gen platforms? Possibly so, but of course, this could also mean a new Brothers in Arms game or another entry in the Aliens brand — seeing as it's taking them a long time to finish the current one up.
Gearbox's only confirmed game for "next-gen" is the Aliens: Colonial Marines version on the Wii U; though I have no doubt they have something cooking in regards to the PS4 and Xbox 720.
What game would you want Gearbox to carry over to next-gen? It seems that at this point, almost every substantial studio is already working on next-gen titles, no?
