The next expansion to Battlefield 3 has finally been dated for release after months of vague release schedules.
Titled Armored Kill, the expansion pack will be out on all three platforms this coming September. It'll hit the PlayStation 3 first on September 4, and it will be subsequently released on both Xbox 360 and PC on September 11—but that's only if you're a member of Battlefield 3 Premium. You'll have to wait until September 18 on the PS3 and September 25 for the 360 and PC if you don't have Premium access.
As the name would suggest, Armored Kill adds a ton of new vehicle-related content. It'll see the addition of five new vehicles (ATVs, tanks, and artillery) and 20 vehicle unlocks. Players will also gain access to Death Valley, which is described by the developers at DICE as the largest map in the history of the Battlefield series. Presumably, all the new vehicles will be accessible on the map. Finally, Armored Kill adds a new Tank Superiority mode and allows you to spawn aboard an AC130 gunship.
The next expansion will be out in December.
