Edmund McMillen is spreading the love to console gamers through his Formspring account, detailing a future Binding of Isaac port on any console that will take him. When asked about future versions of the title for non-PC users, McMillen answered in a very positive manner, with information about additions to the current title.
An anonymous user asked about the console port of Binding of Isaac and whether any additions would be made to the current design.
"We are shooting for ALL OF THEM! we will see who wants it and go from there," McMillen responded. "The console version of [Binding of Isaac] will feature A TON of new modes, bosses, items, playable characters, co-op and a million other things we couldnt do in the flash version. heres hoping it happens!"
In a follow up question, another user begged McMillen to keep PC gamers in mind when all of this new content goes live.
"Oh it will also come out for pc as well. I dont make exclusive console games. when I say console version I mean the ported remade version, a pc remake is part of that," McMillen explained.
The news of console versions of the title, even just McMillen's immense interest in the prospect, is enough to ignite excitement in the gaming community. I already play Binding of Isaac far too much for my own good, and now I can look forward to tacking on another 150 hours to my total playtime.
