A new image purporting to be from the next-generation Kinect sensor appears to have been leaked out by some internal testers with access to the Durango, a.k.a. next-generation Xbox, devkit.
The image originally surfaced on Xboxygen, but the outlet has declined to comment on the authenticity of the leak. Eurogamer mentions that the person who sent them the image is known to possess a devkit, so there's little reason to think it's anything but real.
The image depicts two accurately outlined individuals—a man and perhaps a child—with striking details. The new Kinect sensor appears to have the ability to see fingers against clothing, and is in high contrast compared to the low contrast sensor of the existing Kinect.
The leak gives us reason to believe that the next-gen Kinect is being bundled as a part of the next Xbox instead of being a separate peripheral. With day one access to the next-gen Kinect, developers will be able to more fully integrate the product into their games.
