A post on 4Gamer has unveiled upcoming details on NieR Automata, the sequel to 2010’s cryptic RPG Nier. From December 22, Japanese users will be able to experience a demo of the game, although any saved data cannot be transferred to the full version.
Still, 4Gamer says the demo will be a good opportunity for players to check out the battle system, graphics and atmosphere, and general feel of the game. Naturally, content in the demo may differ from the final product.
There have been sporadic updates on NieR Automata throughout 2016, including gameplay footage, PS4 Pro support, and the announcement that it would be coming to PC in addition to PS4.
NieR Automata is slated for release on March 7 next year for both PC and PS4. Japanese audiences will have access to the game from February 23. It is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for the discounted price of ¥6,881. The normal price is ¥8,424, approximately $74 USD.
Edit: NieR Automata will be releasing for PC sometime in 2017. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
