When a company in an industry desperate to see the next round of developments in the field announces that they're about to show the future of their biggest product, people might start to get their hopes up. Sony have announced that Gamescom will house the reveal of the 'future of PlayStation' and that you'll definitely want to tune in on Tuesday next week to see what all the fuss is about.
It's hard to think it could be anything but the PS4, surely? If you actually follow along with that train of thought, however, you should expect to be disappointed. Smart bets are on new, unannounced titles for the Vita and PS3, as well as a new, cheaper PS3 model. How any of that indicates the future of the brand is beyond me (unless you're thinking about it very literally), but I suppose nobody would bother tuning in if they thought it'd be anything less.
